Sport Truck World Chapters Overview

  • There are no bylaws or hassles
  • There are no dues or fees of any kind
  • There are minimal rules

Rules

MEMBER COUNT - You need to have a group of five (5) actively participating Sport Truck World members in order to create a new chapter for your area. You must supply us with the list of those members' Sport Truck World screen names and/or gallery name.

PHOTOS - You should plan on having a digital camera within your group to cover your events. Since Sport Truck World visitors thrive on photos, this is the key to your chapter presence online. Take a look at the existing chapter home pages and galleries and you'll see hundreds of photos that they have taken of their events. Chapter event photos should be consolidated in the chapter gallery instead of personal galleries.

LOGO USAGE - The use of the Sport Truck World logo (LOGO) and/or the domain name (DOMAIN) is granted only if not modified in any way, unless permission is granted in writing. Permission to use the LOGO and/or DOMAIN, if shown on the same material as another logo, graphic, or domain name must also be granted in writing. Use of the LOGO and/or DOMAIN must also not be used for commercial, malicious, illegal, or competitive reasons.

STICKERS - If you are interested in creating your own chapter stickers for your club, Sport Truck World reserves the right to print them and have them sold through the Sport Truck World Store. This helps promote your club, and helps support the site. Contact us for details.

Starting A Chapter in Your Area

If you know of a group of people who are enthusiasts and you don't quite know where to begin in forming an organization, Sport Truck World would be glad to assist you. There is no charge for starting a chapter in your area.

A local chapter will provide an organization where members can benefit from a program which aids members: in getting to know other enthusiasts, learning about new products and ideas, learning new tips and tricks, and just generally having fun.

The first step in starting a chapter, and one of the most important, is to add your state/province to our database. As shown above, other chapters are trying to get started. This is a great way to let others who visit the site know that you are already trying to start one up!

The second step is to find a group of people in your area who are also interested in Sport Truck . You need at least five trucks (5 Sport Truck World members).

The first place you might try looking for these people is right here in our own Forums. You might also want to sort the gallery list by the State column and contact those truck owners in your state. There are a surprising number of users here from around the country who are enthusiasts just like you. Posting a message may yield some interest. If not, you may also want to attend local car shows, seeking out Sport Truck owners, or simply placing a business card or flyer on the windshield of Sport Truck you spot around town.

If you can't find enough people interested in your chapter, then try putting ads in local papers or newsletters. You may also contact your local dealerships to let people in their service departments know of your "growing" chapter. It only takes a couple of people to start a chapter, not dozens or hundreds!

Once you have a few interested people, then you set a place and a time to have your first meeting. A local park or car/truck show usually works best. The first order of business at this meeting should be to designate officers for your chapter. A chapter should appoint a President, which is surprisingly usually the person who started the idea. Other officers can be a Vice President, Secretary, and a Treasurer if money becomes an issue for larger events.

Sport Truck World will provide you with logo graphics which you can use to advertise your chapter via business cards, flyers, etc. For larger versions of the logo to be used in your work, please contact us.

Choosing The Meeting Site

You will next need to select a location to hold your meetings (or "rallies"). A local park or car/truck show all can work for you. It should be in a central location to everyone participating in your meetings. If you have your meetings at people's homes or a park, have a potluck lunch or have everyone pitch in for pizza. Some chapters have meetings every month, where others have bi-monthly or quarterly meetings. This will be determined on how active your chapter will be. How often you meet is one of the things to decide when you have your first meeting.

Bylaws

Bylaws will be the foundation for how your chapter runs its affairs. These are guidelines made by the members themselves when you first start your chapter. Bylaws determine such things as how often you will meet, how long a term of office will be, membership guidelines, to what the ultimate goals of the chapter will be. Your bylaws are optional.

External Chapter Websites

Chapters are expected to conduct their online business at Sport Truck World. If online features are needed that are not available, please contact the Webmaster. All efforts will be made to accommodate reasonable requests. Chapters no longer needing our web services will have their Chapter dissolved.

Let The World Know

Once you have decided on officers, chosen a name for your chapter and created and voted in bylaws, the next step will be to let people know you exist. The best way to do that is to post a message in the Chapters General Forum, and add your state/province to our pending chapters database. Then start spreading the word by dropping off business cards wherever you go.

These are just the beginning steps to start your own Sport Truck World chapter. You will find a lot of people out there that have been waiting for years to have a club in their area. From these people you will find lots of help and enthusiasm.

Would You Like To Start A Chapter?

Really, it's very simple, and we would be happy to give you all the help we can. Already there have been chapters formed, and we would love to see some new chapters get started. Even if you do not have enough people to start a chapter, let us know you are interested. We will keep your contact information handy, so that if other people in your area contact us, we will know to contact you.

When you are ready to start your chapter fill out this form providing the following information, and we will set up your chapter forum, home page/gallery, and make a general announcement.

Information Required

  • Chapter Name
  • Chapter President Name & Email Address
  • List of at least 5 member names. These must be members with the title of "Member" or better. Sorry, "New Members" do not qualify.

Just fill out this form when you are ready!
Note: We only allow one chapter per state or province.

Now all we need is a few people to get the ball rolling. Any volunteers?
